Jack Stanley’s grave marker, William Creek Road

Jack Stanley was a retired saddle maker and a bit of a recluse who lived about 5km out of town on the William Creek Road. People missed him when he didn’t show up on Mail Day, so they went out to investigate and found he had died. A police officer from Tarcoola came. His report found no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Stanley was buried across the road from his dugout.
