Claude (Snow) Bartram aged 80 The Bartram brothers, Syd, Snow and Harry, came to Coober Pedy with their father, Walter, in 1946 following Tottie Bryants opal find at Eight Mile field. Snow (Claude Vivian Bartram) worked with opal for about 60 years of his 88-year-long life. According to Don Grund, he had Opal Fever. He worked in most of the opal fields of Australia following his philosophy that there is opal just around the corner or through this wall.
